  1. Unless I counted wrong, white is behind in the pip count 115-109. On the other hand, black has 9 rolls that make a home-board point (4-2, 2-4, 5-2, 2-5, 5-3, 3-5, 4-4, 2-2, 5-5), with 5-5 and 2-2 especially dangerous. White could make the bar point to put more pressure on black’s back checker, even though that leaves a second blot on the midi. But, on second thought, white should go, and hope for no hit and no escape by black’s back checker. If white does get hit, I’m not sure s/he would be any worse off. Cross your fingers!
